Project Cabrini Green (feed), 2011, is a 700 hour long video created by Jan Tichy in 2011, following a community project he led alongside Efrat Appel, focused on the demolition of the last building of the Cabrini-Green housing projects in Chicago. On March 28th, 2011 two days before the demolition began, Tichy installed 134 LED lights in the building's 134 apartments. The lights flickered throughout the four weeks of the demolition, each one to a unique rythm, given to it by poems written and recorded by teens from the area. The lights are a visual translation of their voices, voices which would not have been heard if it wasn't for this project. The video documents the demolition process, with the flickering lights that are demolished with the building.
